Taco 'Bout a Bar

A girly fiesta party for my niece's college graduation, complete with tacos, Tres Leches Cake and togetherness.

When my niece graduated, we wanted to celebrate her in a way that was fun, and lighthearted and entirely her! It was one of those days where we made sure that we enjoyed spending time together, and celebrated this special day, giving each a little something to "taco 'bout"!

So, we gathered under the carport, no fancy venue, no elaborate rentals, nothing fancy just packed full of flavor, family, friends and a little bit of thoughtful planning.

This post is your all-in-one guide to planning a taco bar party whether you are honoring a graduate, planning a birthday or just gathering together to enjoy the company and eat good food together. I hope this gives you inspiration and the how-to to make it happen!

The Vision: A Girly Fiesta Party

I am not sure what it is about tacos, but they just feel like a celebration. They are interactive, the complementary foods are full of color and completely D.I.Y. to each individual. Then you pair them with bright pinks, purples, lime green and of course, big flowers, a bit of flair, and you have yourself a fiesta! We were going for the girly fiesta vibe, so we added just enough details that the taco bar was intentional but simple enough not to be overdone or exhaustive.

Let's Taco 'Bout the Party - Tacos!

The taco bar was the centerpiece of the day. We had the most fun taco boats so that guests could build their own plates and go back for seconds! Everything was served buffet style. The cold food kept cold by inflatable coolers and the hot food kept warm in my favorite crockpot .

Festive Decor without the Fuss!

We had beautiful tissue flowers that just took minutes to ""fluff" that were placed strategically around the table and tucked into the balloon arch. Framing the taco bar and giving a small space a photo op stage was the girly fiesta colored balloon arch that we made from various balloon sizes. A few details added by one very creative aunt transformed the green balloons into little cactus. The Taco Bout A Grad balloon banner was the headline of the decor and brought the whole theme together. To complete the Girly Fiesta Party theme, we put a few simple bud vases around the buffet table and they displayed my nieces favorite flowers. This Taco 'Bout a Party was definitely something to talk about!

The Girly Fiesta party was simple proving that decor doesn't have to be elaborate to be enchanting! Whether you are celebrating or just getting together, the food is what brings us all together around the table, (or the carport).
